PING is one of the most useful commands in determining network connectivity with another IP host. Simply typing PING followed by the specific IP address at the command prompt will immediately tell you whether there is connectivity between your computer and the other host.

I find it easier to check my e-mail than to check my voicemail. Now a company has just the solution that I need: my voicemail messages get sent to my e-mail address with attached MP3 audio files of the voice messages. It even will check multiple voicemail accounts and send all the messages to your one e-mail address. Cool!

There are a number of ZIP and unZIP programs around that will handle .zip files. In fact, Windows XP will create and extract ZIP files automatically. However, anyone using earlier versions of Windows will need to obtain a program to handle ZIP files. Even Windows XP's built in ZIP file manager will not handle all the options available in the other programs, such as extensive encryption capabilities, the option to span multiple disks when creating ZIP files, etc. XP users may wish to obrain a more powerful program to replace Microsoft's anemic version.
